Digital art by Josef Bsharah – inspired by Hong Kong?

I recently came across the digital artwork created by Josef Bsharah and thought to myself – I swear this is a photo of the streets of Hong Kong.

Pop culture website So Bad So Good had this to say on his work.

CG artist Josef Bsharah’s work will bend your mind into all kinds of new yoga poses that you hardly thought possible.

By warping the natural laws of gravity, Bsharah uses post-production to transport his audience to a universe similar to ours, yet fundamentally different.

Welcome to the world where none of the basic laws of physics apply anymore— highways bend together in impossible forms. Apartments hover in space. Colorful balls float in the sky. Leave your cares behind and simply observe.

Things don’t need to make sense here.

If technology makes everything possible, then Bsharah is here to push the boundaries of our perception of reality.

Neon lights on a dark Hong Kong street. Exploring the back streets of Kowloon. And looking out at an anonymous apartment tower of a New Town in the New Territories. That’s what I made of his images. What about you?
